Content of the piece
How close can we get? How can physical togetherness still look like at a time when we are constantly observing ourselves and have to derive what is currently relevant for us from an almost overwhelming flood of information? How do we deal with our fears? And how has the prescribed social isolation changed our relationship to our own human instincts?
The interdisciplinary dance theater piece „fear.less“ with three actors and three dancers illuminates the „present moment” of social life in the pandemic, which is characterized by fears and uncertainties, and at the same time searches for opportunities to playfully return to the greatest possible freedom of community and closeness . Identification and empathy between viewers and performers act as a powerful interaction and make this topic, which is current for both sides, directly tangible in the physical, universal language of the body. Accordingly, what moves us in the current exceptional situation, makes us speechless and powerless can be translated into this general, non verbal language. The stage becomes a platform, an immediate experience space, in order to create spaces of possibility out of fearful spaces and to play them on in a critical, humorous and situational manner.
